Intro
After becoming frustrated for the 100th time scrolling through Pinterest for recipes to find the perfect meal. Then realizing I was missing one, more, or all of the ingredients. I decided to search the app store to find an app that combines a personal inventory of my kitchen while helping me to find recipes based on what I have. Unable to find what I was looking for I decided to take this idea on as a new UX project. Take a look to see my complete app design and prototype. Keep checking back for an upcoming brand refresh.
Process
Getting started by getting organized
After developing this idea, I dove straight into wire framing. All layouts and wireframes were done inside of Adobe XD. I then moved to pen and paper, illustrator and Figma to build the brand. It began as “Cookalog” with a very different palette. I built out the pages in Figma and began prototyping, only to pause halfway when I decided I hated the name “Cookalog” and the colors were too hard to work with. So, I rebranded. After developing a stronger brand, Spence was born. I then completed the prototype and moved on to make it a reality.
One thing I have learned about app creation is, making it a reality costs a little money. So for now, this is just a concept design. But I really enjoyed working on it and I’m very proud of the result.
